Dear Church Family –
If you ever feel out of step with the world around you it’s because you are! Christ-followers are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Salt stings and light exposes. When Jesus was here on earth He was surprisingly like us, and yet attractively and convictingly different.
Back in the 1950s, A.W. Tozer wrote…
A real Christian is an odd number anyway.
He feels supreme love
for One he’s never seen.
He talks familiarly every day
to Someone he cannot see.
He expects to go to heaven
on the virtue of Another.
He empties himself
in order to be full.
He admits he is wrong
so he can be declared right.
He goes down
in order to get up.
He is strongest when he is weakest,
richest when he is poorest,
and happiest when he feels worst.
He dies so he can live,
forsakes in order to have,
and gives away so he can keep.
He sees the invisible,
hears the inaudible,
and knows that which passes understanding.
“Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life…” (Phil 2:14-16)
Sunday morning, we’re going to look at Joseph in Egypt and how he was able to make a shining difference in a pagan environment. See you Sunday! – Pastor Tim
