Dear Church Family –
No one questions that tomorrow is a pivotal day in the life of our nation. I was part of a conversation last night about how American politics affects Missionaries and Christians in other countries.
As human beings we struggle with anxiety, fear, anger, or hopelessness.
As Christians we struggle with keeping our mind on things above, and balancing our dual citizenship. “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians3:20)
Here’s what’s guiding my prayers today and tomorrow:
1. Pray for our own hearts and minds, for peace and trust in God. “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22)
2. Pray for the Lord’s will in this election. “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:9-10)
3. Pray for peace and nonviolence across the nation. “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” (Romans 8:6)
4. Pray for all of our leaders and candidates. “First of all then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
5. Pray for integrity in our elections. “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are His delight.” (Proverbs 12:22)
6. Pray for unity in the church and among Christians. “Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.” (1 Peter 3:8)
7. Pray that we would be preserved from evil. “…lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” (Matthew 6:13)
8. Pray for our wisdom for living and witness to those around us. “…in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.” (1 Peter 3:15) “…let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
Thanks for praying – Pastor Tim

You people got your wish. You got the most lying person to run for office. I could list dozens of things why Trump shouldn't have won and why supporting him is damaging to the country.
